Dr Khimji started with T2 dental in September 2019, she works every Thursday.
Debbie originally trained as a physiotherapist at Guy’s Hospital, where she and Alun met. When they started T2, she became more closely involved in the running of the business, finally giving up physiotherapy altogether.
She qualified as a dental nurse in 2004 and undertook the dental nurse training for the Bicon Implant System in Boston in 2008. Always keen to keep learning she has gained additional qualifications, including the BDA Certificate in Dental Radiography and is also qualified to take dental impressions. Debbie has a great enthusiasm for promoting her second profession and in 2012 became an examiner for the National Examining Board for Dental Nurses. In 2013 she gained her teaching qualification and has gone on to set up and teach the City & Guilds Dental Nurse Apprenticeship course at City College Plymouth.
Debbie also serves as a Chairperson of "Fitness to Practice" panels for the Nursing and Midwifery Council and the General Dental Council where she is also an Education Associate.
Heather joined the T2 Dental team after working in banking for many years. She brings experience in managing teams and is keen to bring her skills to the Practice Management role.
Georgina joined us in September 2022. Georgina graduated in June 2022 from Plymouth University with a BSc in Dental Hygiene/Therapy.
Robyn always has a very cheerful personality and is always on hand to assist patients with all aspects of their dentistry. She is very keen to assist with the mentoring of team members who are in training.
Alun qualified in 1982 from Guy’s Hospital and worked in general practice in the South of England and Wales before he and Debbie moved to Plymouth with their family in 1994. For a while he was part of the Community Dental Service, working with special needs patients, running operating theatre sessions and enjoying driving the mobile dental unit around the Devon lanes. In 1995 he and Debbie started T2, initially at the Lodge in the old Stoke Damerel School, before moving to Stoke Village. Alun has always been committed to improving and extending his skills. In 2004 he gained the Postgraduate Certificate in Restorative Dentistry from the prestigious Eastman Dental Institute in London. Alun has been using the Bicon Implant System since 2008, having undertaken training in Boston USA, Cartagena and Rome. He has founded the Bicon SW Users Group, which holds regular meetings to encourage and mentor other dentists in our area. Recently he was invited to speak at the Bicon International VIP meeting at the Harvard Club in Boston. He accepts referrals from other dentists and specialists, often being able to provide Bicon implants where other systems are not suitable or would require surgical treatments. Alun is also trained in Invisalign, and is a member of the BDA and the ADI. Alun is also qualified in Advanced Facial Aesthetics, providing Botox, Dermal Fillers and Dermaroller to treat those unwanted lines and wrinkles.
